26.09.00: Le Traquenard, rue de Charonne
A turning point, an afternoon coffee just before Serge packs me into a taxi headed for my new residence, my first Paris home, a chambre de bonne in the 7e. It's a quiet drink -- he's stressed about work starting up again (one of the alleged reasons I could stay no longer than the one week at his place), I'm stressed about moving into a ten-square-meter eight-floor walk-up in a dull part of town (albeit with an incredible north-facing view of the Eiffel Tower and Hôtel des Invalides). We bask in north-side sun during the afternoon lull on an otherwise busy and somewhat chiant street amidst the hipness.
