15.05.01: Café Beaubourg, rue St. Martin / rue A. Le Boucher
Someone somewhere dubbed this place the best place to be seen, and it's certainly got its share of the beautiful people sitting in its uncomfortable but apparently stylish white chairs. More importantly, though, today I finally set foot in the Bibliothèque Nationale and attempted to, well, do some research. Pollie had convinced me into getting the membership a couple of weeks back at the new main site in the 13e, so today was the first visit to the manuscrits orientaux room at the old -- and far more evocative and impressive -- Richilieu building in the 2e. Thus we celebrate the end of the post-A-exam coma with some overpriced salads in the afternoon sun.
