09.10.00: Le Relais de l'Opéra, rue Auber Venturing into new territory, running seriously low on cash, over to the "main office" district of the 9e to pick up a replacement AmEx card and return to the world of spending power after a weekend of frugality (cancelled movie plans, dinners consisting of leftovers apples, staring wistfully out from the chambre de bonne...). How appropriate, then, to begin spending at a seriously overpriced café just across the street the old Opera house. A fine establishment, I'm sure, complete with red velvet and standard-issue salads.
