12.11.00: Café Marly, Pyramide / Musée du Louvre
On strict café grounds, this one might not count, being more or less the Musée du Louvre's outdoor café (under the arches of its fantabulous courtyard). For that matter, it's probably the most expensive express I've had to date, and possibly ever will. But my hour or so here was spent waiting for Serge and Oriana to take their particular tour through the museum. I'm really not sure how I spent my time here, other than contemplating the events of that weekend, and how Paris had begun to make a bit more sense with her there. The omelettes in the morning, the walk through the Luxembourg gardens, the metaphysical discussion of sappy John Lennon lyrics, the frank Yiddish musings at a Blues club in the 14e, and, of course, the morning after on the elevate line 6 en route to Serge's.
