29.09.01: Le Richerand, avenue Richerand / rue Bichat
Another chance meeting on the métro turns into my last act as a lecteur at Paris-XII. I had run into a first-year student named Amina on the platform at the Nation station, where she claimed to have been wanting to talk to me about taking a year abroad in Montreal. We made plans to meet at République, though I have no idea how we wound up at this totally generic place off the Canal St. Martin. She was an odd but good (and cute) student, proof of the theory that things work better in the classroom when there's a little flirting, a little sexual energy in the room. And now that she was no longer my student, the situation was, I suppose, less constrained. Of course I never heard from her again. Maybe I should check the phonebook in Montreal.
