15.05.02: Le Chaland, Quai de Valmy Yes, I know I claimed that the genesis of the photographic side of the café project began two weeks earlier, but this was the first day of deliberately setting my day's agenda around an itinerary of café shoots, rather than just snapping them as the came. I covered most of the places in the 18e on this outing, and rode home on the path alongside the elevated line 2 métro, wherethe delivery trucks and motorcycle drivers are particularly unscrupulous with their "parking" for some reason). This café was right off the bikepath on the Canal St. Martin but in that nether region between the Quai de la Villette and the more frequented stretch of the Canal. All of which made it totally attractive to me, despite the enhanced loudness of the unimpeded traffic right out front.
