09.12.01: Le Vosgien, avenue Simon Bolivar / rue de l'Equerre
When a café's this nice, you have to photograph it twice (just the end of the roll, really). It's December, and yet I can still go for a walk in the Buttes-Chaumont, already nostalgic to a certain degree -- a bit of irrational fear that I won't be coming back in January. This café had a very small-town feel to it, and certainly some small town prices -- 10 FF for a crème, a couple of very friendly barkeeps, a some terrific tin walls and ceilings. Then one of the more surprisingly gorgeous vistas while bikeriding in the city, westward down the rue de Belleville into the sun setting over the Eiffel Tower. Melodramatic goodness.
