04.03.01: Le Byzantin, rue Réamur / rue St. Denis This is one café I would be passing several times a week a year from now, right on my bike route back from the Bibliothèque Nationale (in fact, it was coming back from the BN that I snapped the photo). However, at this point in my Paris years, I can't figure out what brought me here. The deuxième is a strange place - trendy Montrogueuil on one end, and seedy St. Denis on the other, and the shmata district in the middle. On my way to a truly odd Spanish film, Una noche con Sabrina Love, probably at MK2 Beaubourg, I stop for coffee and newspaper at the byzantine end.
