24.09.00: Place du Marché Ste. Catherine
A slightly blustery gets Serge out of the house for a walk. He quite enjoys playing tour guide, commenting on the obvious and the not-so obvious. At this point, its mostly not-so; after a couple of months of living here, particularly once I move to the 11th, his commentaries begin to strike me as a bit more, well, I'll find the word at some point. In the meantime, after a lighthearted stop at the Memorial the Deported on Ile St. Louis, we hit this (unnamed?) place on a surprisingly quiet square just a few blocks from Bastille, as well the more marketable Place des Vosges. Picnic-style (or is it cafeteria) table under a plastic awning don't do too much to diminish the charm. I may have even had a tea.
