21.11.01: Café du Mogador, rue St. Lazare / rue du Chausée d'Antin
Not all sessions at the AIU could be so obviously rewarding, and this was one of the days that involved three hours of listening to music at the library there before giving up. But thanks to the law of averages, I wound up at a terrific café -- things always bode well when red velvet is involved. The crème may have been pricey, but this place had a very understated belle époque feel, and even inspired me to slog through a fair bit of Yiddish text.
