08.12.01: La Liberté, boulevard Voltaire / rue St. Sébastien
I was going to Médem a little more often this fall, spending quality time with language-learning manuals for Yiddish or Hebrew speakers, my latest research kick. But given the number of other events going on there -- talks, concerts, gatherings of one sort or another -- I really did not take much advantage. Today was a case in point, since I pretty much snuck out rather than stay for the talks they had scheduled as part of a mini-conference. So I decided I would at least have to do some reading from The Golem to make up for it, so I planted myself at the café across the street from my building, the one that always seemed basked in sunshine. Very cute glass-top tables, filled, for some reason, with coffee beans.
